To see you
I long to see you: unguarded, unarmed, at ease, safe, confident in yourself.
When I catch glimpses of that human being it is a miraculous delight. I see spirit, creativity, wit, joy, humor, passion, integrity, grace…all those things that led me to fall in love with humanity.
A True Beginner’s Guide to Outdoor/Landscape/Wildlife Photography
I’ve been using my unprogrammed time these past few months to practice outdoor photography for 1-2 hours almost every day. I’m still a beginner, but I’ve learned a few important things in a short amount of time that may be helpful to you if you’re starting out.
American Freedom
Every human soul yearns for freedom,
cries out for the opportunity to leap forth,
unfurl its wings to their fullest span,
test one's capacity for flight.
America's greatest original and abiding sin
is its belief that in order for some to fly,
others, our brothers and sisters,
must be shot down,
roped to the tree,
or pressed to the ground.
Finding Slowness Again
When most the country went on lockdown in late March of this year, my video production business, Flow Media, basically tanked. What the heck do I do with myself all day? was a thought that consistently ate at me. One answer I came up with was to pick up my camera and step outside. I started going for long walks out in nature every morning. Over the past six weeks, these walks have helped reacquaint me with some things I had let slip from my life. The first and biggest on this list was the kind of slow, playful wandering that I haven’t really done for years.
